Call for Speakers
The stage at WordCamp Delhi 2026 is yours. Whether you have shipped a hundred sites or just published your first post, we want to hear the one thing only you can talk about — on 12–13 December, at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
Dil se Dilli. Code se community. Applications are open to everyone — first-time speakers very much included.
What Kind of Sessions We Are Planning?
We welcome speakers at every level, from first-timers to seasoned pros. Pick the format that fits your idea and your style best.
Long Talk
30 minutes + 10 min Q&A
The classic. Room to go deep on a subject, with time for the audience to dig in afterwards.
Panel / Fireside Chat
60 minutes, including Q&A
A moderated conversation between several voices, built for disagreement and diverse perspectives.

11:59 PM IST (UTC +5:30). We review every proposal and will let all applicants know either way in early November — well before the schedule goes live.
First Time on Stage? Perfect.
Whether you have used WordPress for ten years or discovered it last month, WordCamp Delhi is for you. It is about passion, energy and ideas — not a speaking résumé.
Do You Need Speaking Experience?
Not at all. Some experience helps, but it is not a requirement. If you have never spoken at a WordCamp or a meetup before, we still want to hear your idea — and a good chunk of every WordCamp line-up is first-time speakers.
Tell us in the form that this is your first time and our programme team will pair you with a mentor from the community.
Need Help Shaping Your Talk?
- Be clear and concise. One idea, well made, beats five half-made ones.
- Show why it is you. Say what you have built, broken or learned on this topic.
- Give us an outline. Key points, demos and the takeaway an attendee leaves with.

Frequently Asked Questions
What language should my talk be in?
English is preferred so that attendees joining us from outside India can follow along, but talks in Hindi are welcome too. Tell us your preference in the application and we will place your session accordingly.
How many talks can I submit?
Up to two. Submit the form once per idea, and send us your very best — a strong single proposal beats two rushed ones.
Should I buy a ticket before I know?
Yes, buy one when sales open so your seat is secure. If you are selected as a speaker we will give you a complimentary ticket, and you can transfer the one you bought to someone else.
What happens after I submit my application?
Our programme team reads every proposal. If yours is selected we will email you to reconfirm your interest, availability and session details before the schedule is announced. Everyone hears back either way.
Will you cover travel or accommodation?
WordCamps are volunteer-run community events with deliberately low ticket prices, so we are not able to cover travel or stay.
Are you open to backup speakers?
Yes. Plans change on the day, so let us know in the form if you are willing to step in as a backup. Opting in does not reduce your chances of being picked as a main speaker — it just tells the programme team who else is ready.
Will I get support preparing my talk?
Absolutely. Prior speaking experience is not required. Write to delhi@wordcamp.org and we will connect you with a mentor, review your outline and run a practice session with you.
