Call for Wapuu

The WordCamp Delhi Team invites everyone to design a Wapuu for WordCamp Delhi 2026! This is your chance to put your creativity on display and add a new member to the beloved Wapuu family — whether you’re a seasoned illustrator or picking up a stylus for the first time.

What is Wapuu?

Wapuu is the beloved unofficial mascot of WordPress, first conceptualized during the WordCamp Tokyo 2009 after-party and brought to life by illustrator Kaneuchi Kazuko. Since then, almost every WordCamp around the world has created its own local Wapuu — and now it’s Delhi’s turn!

What Do We Need?

A Wapuu that best represents WordCamp Delhi 2026 — one that embodies Delhi’s culture, its monuments, or simply anything that says “Delhi” the moment you see it!

Important Notes

  • Free to enter. Submission is completely free of charge.
  • Open to everyone. This call isn’t limited to designers or illustrators — anyone can submit.
  • Individuals or teams. Submit solo or with your crew.
  • Multiple entries welcome. You can submit more than one design.
  • Original work only. Please don’t submit an already-published design.
  • Respect copyright. Submit only your own original design and adhere to copyright laws — plagiarized or trademark-violating entries will be excluded from consideration.
  • Wide use. The winning Wapuu will be used widely across WordCamp Delhi 2026 — on swag, banners, posters and more.
  • Organiser review. All submissions will be evaluated by the WordCamp Delhi 2026 organising team.
  • You keep the copyright. The copyright for the chosen Wapuu stays with the original designer — that’s you!
