12 & 13 December 2026 · Janpath, New Delhi

We are pleased to officially announce the venue for WordCamp Delhi 2026.

On the 12th and 13th of December, the Delhi WordPress community will come together at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC) on Janpath – one of New Delhi’s finest institutional venues, set in the ceremonial heart of the capital.

For an event built on community, collaboration, and open contribution, we could not have asked for a more fitting home.

About the Venue

The Dr. Ambedkar International Centre is a modern, purpose-built conference and cultural centre located at 15 Janpath, New Delhi. Inaugurated in 2018 and managed by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, DAIC was established to promote research, dialogue, and public engagement on the values and vision of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar – architect of the Indian Constitution.

The venue offers world-class facilities in a setting few in Delhi can match: a state-of-the-art auditorium, multiple breakout halls, dedicated exhibition space, and elegant common areas – all under one roof. It is a venue built for gatherings of consequence, and we are honoured to bring the WordPress community here.

Location and Accessibility

DAIC’s location on Janpath places attendees at the very centre of Lutyens’ Delhi – a short walk from India Gate, the National Museum, and the ceremonial boulevards of the capital.

Address: Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC) at 15, Janpath, New Delhi – 110001

Nearest Metro Stations

  • Central Secretariat (Yellow & Violet Lines) – approximately 0.7 KM (10 Minutes walk)
  • Janpath (Violet Line) – approximately 0.7 KM (10 Minutes walk)
  • Udyog Bhawan (Yellow Line) – approximately 1.5 KM (15 Minutes walk)

By Road: The venue is well-connected by road, with ample parking in and around Connaught Place. Ride-share services operate reliably across central Delhi and to the airport.

From the Airport: Indira Gandhi International Airport is approximately 30 minutes by road, or a 40-minute journey via the Airport Express Metro line (change at New Delhi station for the Yellow Line to Udyog Bhawan).

For out-of-town attendees, the venue’s central location means a wide range of hotels – from budget stays around Connaught Place and Paharganj to premium properties along Janpath and the Sardar Patel Marg corridor – are all within a short ride.

What the Venue Offers

DAIC has been chosen not only for its location and prestige, but for its ability to host every element of a two-day WordCamp comfortably. Each space at the venue serves a purpose – and together, they create the environment that makes WordCamp Delhi 2026 possible.

BHIM Auditorium

The heart of the event. A professional-grade auditorium equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual infrastructure, comfortable seating, and clear sightlines from every row. This is where Conference Day unfolds – keynotes, sessions, panels, and the moments the community will remember long after December.

Conference Hall

The workshop room of the WordCamp. Home to Contributor Day tables, deep-dive sessions, and hands-on collaboration. Set up for teams to gather, work, share screens, and move ideas from conversation to commit.

Sponsor Hall & Exhibition Area

A dedicated space for our sponsors, partners, and product showcases. This is where attendees meet the companies building the plugins, themes, hosting, and tools they use every day – face to face, without a screen in between.

Open Networking Space

The unofficial main stage of any good WordCamp. A comfortable, open area for chai breaks, hallway conversations, business cards, and the informal exchanges that often become the best part of the day.

Accessible Main Entry

A welcoming, fully accessible entrance into DAIC – step-free access with elevators, ramps, and clear wayfinding. Because the doors to WordPress should be open to everyone, and the doors to our venue should be the same.

  • Full accessibility including step-free access, elevators, and accessible restrooms
  • On-site catering facilities to serve attendees across both days
  • Reliable connectivity, air conditioning, and security throughout the venue

Every element of the space has been considered to ensure that attendees – whether attending their first WordCamp or their fiftieth – have a comfortable, professional, and welcoming environment for both days.

Why This Venue Matters

Choosing a venue for a WordCamp is never only about square footage and seating capacity. It is also about what the space represents.

The Dr Ambedkar International Centre is named for the chair of the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution – a document written in public, debated in public, and belonging to no one so that it could belong to everyone. That principle, of open collaboration in service of a shared foundation, is at the heart of the open-source philosophy that powers WordPress and the wider GPL ecosystem.

The road it sits on, Janpath, translates literally as the people’s path.

For a community-organised, volunteer-run event that celebrates the open web and the people who build it, we can think of no more meaningful setting.

Around the Venue

DAIC’s location is a genuine benefit for attendees who wish to make the most of their time in Delhi. Within a 15-minute walk or short auto ride, you will find:

  • India Gate and Kartavya Path – the ceremonial heart of the capital
  • The National Museum – one of India’s most significant cultural institutions
  • Jantar Mantar – the 18th-century astronomical observatory
  • Khan Market – bookshops, cafés, and one of Delhi’s most beloved neighbourhoods
  • Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk) – Delhi’s iconic commercial and dining district

For attendees travelling from outside the city, the venue’s placement allows you to experience central Delhi at its best between sessions and after the event concludes.
